Nussakh Privacy Policy

Nussakh listens to a Quran recitation, finds the surah and ayah being recited, and follows along on your iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what happens to your information. In short: we don't collect it.

The microphone and speech recognition

While you choose to listen, Nussakh uses your iPhone's microphone and Apple's speech recognition to turn the recitation into words, which it matches against the Quran text built into the app. Recognition happens on your iPhone when Arabic on-device recognition is available; otherwise Apple processes the audio on its servers, under Apple's privacy policy. Nussakh does not record, store or send the audio or the recognized words anywhere. Listening stops when you tap Stop.

Signing in

Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Apple or Google, Nussakh receives an account identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address. These are kept only on your iPhone. We run no servers and receive no copy.

"How did you hear about us?"

Your answer is kept only on your iPhone.

Apple Watch and the lock screen

Your iPhone sends the current surah and ayah to your own Apple Watch over Apple's WatchConnectivity, and shows them in a Live Activity on your lock screen. Nothing leaves your devices for this.

What we don't do

No analytics, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data.

Deleting your data

In Nussakh, open Settings › Delete account to remove your sign-in and everything the app saved about you. Deleting the app removes it all too.

Children

Nussakh doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
